Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an accomplished Finance Manager to lead financial performance, governance and commercial decision-making across the operation.

You'll partner with the General Manager and leadership to drive profitability, manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and project costing, and provide strategic financial input for tendering and pricing in a manufacturing/engineering context.

Qualifications

• Experience with project costing, estimating or manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.

Commercially focused | Senior leadership role | Drive business performance
An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experiencedFinance Managerto take the lead on financial performance, commercial decision-making and financial governance.

This is ahigh-impact, hands-on roleworking closely with the General Manager and operational leadership team. Approximately 75% of the position is focused on operational and commercial finance, with the balance supporting broader Group Finance requirements.

The Role

• Lead financial performance, reporting, controls and governance.
• Partner with senior leadership to drive profitability and informed decision-making.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and monthly management reporting.
• Provide commercial input intoestimating, tendering, project costing and pricing.
• Analyse labour, material and overhead costs to improve margins.
• Monitor project profitability, inventory, procurement and working capital.
• Manage statutory reporting, tax obligations, audit and financial compliance.
• Support contract invoicing, milestone payments and lender covenant requirements.
• Oversee payroll and provide support across key HR processes.
• Contribute to Group reporting, Board reporting and broader finance initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and financial performance.

About You

You're a commercially minded finance professional who cango beyond the numbers. You'll be confident partnering with operational leaders, challenging assumptions and turning financial data into practical business decisions.
You'll ideally bring:

• Finance Manager or senior commercial finance experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cashflow skills.
• Experience with project costing, estimating or manufacturing/engineering environments (highly regarded).
• Strong commercial and analytical capability.
• Sound knowledge of financial controls, compliance and statutory reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
• CA/CPA or relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
