Job summary

Unison Solar Energy Pty Ltd is seeking a Financial Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and controls across the business. You will own the end-to-end financial close, budgeting and forecasting, audit and tax activities, treasury and financial controls, while partnering with senior leaders to drive performance and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualification and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and tax requirements.
• Proven track record delivering accurate management accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory reporting.
• Experience leading audits, compliance activities and financial reporting across multiple entities or projects.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial planning to support business decisions.
• Manage core accounting operations and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee financial compliance for grants, green tariffs, subsidies and renewable energy projects. Drive finance process, systems and control improvements to support scalable business growth.
• Partner with business leaders to provide insights, manage financial risks and improve performance.
• Lead and develop the finance team, driving accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Lead the end-to-end financial close, consolidation, reporting and performance analysis.

Unison Solar Energy is expanding its finance department to support the next phase of our growth. We are recruiting a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and controls across the business.

In this role you will lead the end-to-end financial close, budgeting and forecasting, audit and tax activities, treasury and financial controls, while partnering with senior leaders to drive performance and informed decision‑making.
