West Recruitment is partnering with a high-growth renewable energy business to recruit a Finance Manager who will own the accounting function. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead technical accounting, statutory reporting and financial controls, driving a robust month-end close and scalable processes.

You will manage external audits, provide technical accounting guidance, strengthen controls, and partner with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundation
• Big 4 or mid-tier accounting experience
• Renewable energy experience desirable,; infrastructure or asset-intensive backgrounds considered

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the month-end close process and key statutory reporting
• Manage external audit process and act as primary liaison for auditors
• Provide technical accounting guidance and assess complex transactions
• Prepare technical accounting position papers and supporting docs
• Ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS standards
• Manage group reporting across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and management accounts
• Strengthen financial controls and improve Finance processes
• Identify automation opportunities in Finance
• Support statutory, compliance and tax reporting
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Mentor and develop the Finance team

About your new Role!

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad Finance Manager position with a strong focus on technical accounting, statutory reporting, financial control and ownership of the accounting function.

You will take ownership of the month-end close and key statutory reporting requirements, while working closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen the Finance environment, improve controls and build scalable processes as the organisation continues to grow.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning and leading the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
• Taking ownership of statutory reporting requirements, including the preparation of annual financial statements
• Managing the external audit process and acting as a key point of contact for auditors and external advisors
• Providing technical accounting guidance and assessing the accounting treatment of significant or complex transactions
• Preparing technical accounting position papers and supporting documentation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant AASB/IFRS accounting standards
• Managing Group reporting requirements across monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journals and management accounts
• Strengthening financial controls, policies and procedures as the business continues to scale
• Identifying opportunities to automate and streamline Finance processes
• Supporting broader statutory, compliance and tax reporting requirements
• Working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the broader business
• Providing guidance and support to the accounting team and contributing to the ongoing development of the Finance function

About You!

You will be a technically strong accounting professional with experience across statutory reporting, month-end and financial control, who enjoys taking ownership and working in a growing environment.

You will ideally have:

• CA/CPA qualification with a strong technical accounting foundation
• Big 4 or mid-tier accounting experience will be highly regarded
• Experience within renewable energy is desirable, however experienced candidates from infrastructure, utilities or other asset-intensive environments will also be considered.
• Strong statutory reporting experience, including preparation of financial statements
• Experience owning and leading the month-end close process
• Strong knowledge of AASB/IFRS and the ability to work through complex technical accounting matters
• Experience strengthening financial controls and improving Finance processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both Finance and non-finance stakeholders
