Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a 12- to 15-month fixed-term contract in New South Wales. Reporting to the CFO, you will own a broad finance remit across reporting, year-end, audit, treasury, controls and team leadership, while guiding finance transformation and data initiatives.

The role is hands-on and strategic within a growing services organisation. You will bring proven FC experience in a mid-to-large organisation, strong reporting capability, treasury

Qualifications

• Proven Financial Controller experience within a medium-to-large organisation.
• Strong financial reporting, month-end and year-end capability.
• Experience managing external audit and statutory reporting.
• Treasury and cash flow management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience within services, contracting, infrastructure, project-based would be advantageous.

• Leading monthly financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Coordinating year-end reporting and the external audit.
• Overseeing statutory and income tax compliance processes.
• Managing treasury, cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.
• Reviewing and strengthening financial controls and processes.
• Supporting commercial and credit reviews for new customers.
• Leading, reviewing and mentoring a developing accounting team.
• Supporting finance activities across a national branch network.
• Partnering closely with the CFO on broader finance and business matters.
• Contributing to ongoing systems, data and finance transformation.

A large, privately owned Australian services organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the business on a 12-15 month fixed-term contract. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of a broad finance remit across financial reporting, year-end, audit, treasury, controls and team leadership, while also having the opportunity to bring fresh ideas and external perspective to a business continuing to grow and evolve. With approximately $1 billion in annual revenue, a national footprint and a highly stable finance team, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you will remain close to the detail while operating as a senior member of the finance leadership team.
