Michael Page is recruiting for a stand-alone finance role in Western Australia. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage all financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while supervising payroll and intercompany activities.

The role offers a clear path to CFO and exposure to both governance and strategic finance across multiple sites. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in Big 4/Mid-Tier audit with SME commercial experience, CA/CPA qualification, and experience

• CA/CPA qualification is required.
• Public practice background preferred.
• Experience in SME commercial environment.
• Hospitality or property industry exposure is desirable.
• Experience reporting into a CEO with potential progression to CFO.
• Intercompany exposure is beneficial.
• Proficient with Xero accounting software.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage outsourced payroll for the group (fortnightly).
• Handle intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management reports with variance analysis.
• Coordinate dividend distributions to Joint Venture partners.
• Support Board reporting for each site.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, ASIC, tax and financial reporting obligations.
• Oversee cash flow and financial planning activities.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors and provide strategic financial insights.
• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial strategies with business goals.

About Our Client

Specialising in the hospitality sector, our client is an Australian private company with sites around Australia. The team is now looking to strengthen its finance function with this stand-alone position.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be a stand-alone finance position, responsible for:

• Manage all financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, as well as Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables.
• Manage the outsourced payroll function for the group (fortnightly payroll).
• Manage intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly reports for management, including analysis of variances against budget and forecast.
• Manage dividend distribution to Joint Venture partners.
• Assist with Board Reporting for each site.
• Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, ASIC, tax and financial reporting obligations.
• Oversee cash flow management and financial planning activities.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making.
• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial strategies with business goals.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have prior experience working within a Big 4/Mid Tier audit environment, coupled with commercial Financial Controller experience. Key traits will also include:

• CA/CPA Qualified.
• Public practice education.
• Exposure working in SME commercial environment.
• Hospitality or property industry exposure is desired.
• Prior experience reporting into a CEO and have the ability to progress into CFO title.
• Intercompany exposure.
• XERO accounting system knowledge.
• Willingness to travel to site on monthly basis (circa 2 days at a time).
