Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Maryborough is seeking a Financial Analytics Officer to join our Budgeting & Strategic Accounting team. You will model, forecast and analyse financial data to support long-term sustainability and strategic decisions, and work with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver insights.

The role is permanent, full-time, with a salary of $97,137 plus superannuation and a 9-day fortnight, offering flexible working arrangements including work from home.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and analyse sophisticated financial and forecasting models.
• Interpret and apply Australian Accounting Standards and legislation/regulatory requirements.
• Strong research, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• High level computer literacy, numeracy and experience with financial systems, spreadsheets and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in financial modelling, forecasting and analysis to support Council's long-term financial sustainability and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver high-quality financial insights.
• Support budgeting processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Improve financial systems and reporting tools to enhance decision making.
