Job summary

Casino Food Company in NSW is seeking a commercially minded Financial Analyst to support the Head of Finance with financial reporting, business insights and performance analysis across the business. The role blends financial analysis, accounting and data analytics, partnering with operations to drive performance through automation and BI tools.

You will analyse revenue, margins and production costs, monitor budget vs forecast, and prepare management and board packs.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance or related discipline and professional qualification preferred.
• Strong FP&A, management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with SQL querying and data analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills including modeling; Power BI experience.
• ERP familiarity and reporting automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse revenue, margins, production costs, and KPIs.
• Variance analysis and insights vs budget/forecast.
• Support monthly management and board reporting packs.
• Prepare profitability, scenario and Capex investment analyses.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review weekly P&L and management reports with accountant.
• Ensure data accuracy in ERP systems.
• Support internal audit processes and compliance.
• Extract, analyse and interpret data using SQL, Power BI, Excel.
• Develop automated reports, dashboards and KPI reporting.
• Analyse operational performance, inventory, labour and production trends.
• Drive data-driven decision making via advanced analytics.

The Casino Food Companyis a leading export food processor with production facilities located in Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast.

We are seeking a commercially minded and analytical Financial Analyst to support the Head of Finance in delivering financial reporting, business insights, and performance analysis across the business.

This role offers a unique blend of financial analysis, financial accounting, and data analytics, partnering closely with operational teams to drive performance, support strategic decision-making, and improve reporting through automation and business intelligence tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse revenue, margins, production costs, and operational KPIs.
• Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and insights.
• Support monthly management reporting and board reporting packs.
• Prepare profitability, scenario, and investment analysis to support business decisions, particularly for Capex projects.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist accountant to review the weekly P&L and management reports.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within ERP systems.
• Assist with the process of Internal Audit to ensure compliance with established procedures or agreed business objectives.
• Extract, analyse, and interpret data using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and ERP systems.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and business insights.
• Build automated reports, dashboards, and KPI reporting solutions.
• Analyse operational performance, inventory, labour, and production trends.
• Support data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics.

Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement

• Provide financial insights and education to operational and business leaders.
• Attend operational meetings with business unit leaders.
• Analyse production costs, yields, and operational efficiencies.
• Support reporting automation, ERP enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance reporting and analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification (preferable).
• Experience in FP&A, Management Accounting, Commercial Finance, or Financial Accounting.
• Experience with SQL querying and data analysis skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and Power Query.
• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience working with ERP and planning systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within food manufacturing, food processing, agribusiness, or FMCG.
• Experience in reporting automation and finance process improvement.
