Job summary

The Casino Food Company is seeking a commercially minded and analytical Financial Analyst to support the Head of Finance in delivering financial reporting, business insights, and performance analysis across the business.

This role blends financial analysis, accounting and data analytics, partnering with operations to drive performance and improve reporting through automation and BI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards is preferable.
• Experience in FP&A, management accounting, commercial finance, or financial accounting.
• Experience with SQL querying and data analysis skills.
• Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling and Power Query.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Experience working with ERP and planning systems.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in food manufacturing, food processing, agribusiness or FMCG.
• Experience in reporting automation and finance process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Analyse revenue, margins, production costs, and operational KPIs.
• Monitor performance against budget and forecast with variance analysis.
• Support monthly management reporting and board reporting packs.
• Prepare profitability, scenario, and investment analysis for Capex decisions.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review weekly P&L and management reports with the accountant.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in ERP systems.
• Assist with Internal Audit to ensure compliance.
• Extract, analyse and interpret data using SQL, Power BI, Excel and ERP systems.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and insights.
• Build automated reports, dashboards and KPI reporting solutions.
• Analyse operational performance, inventory, labour and production trends.
• Support data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics.
• Provide financial insights to operational leaders and attend meetings.
• Analyse production costs, yields, and operational efficiencies.
• Support reporting automation and process improvements.

The Casino Food Companyis a leading export food processor with production facilities located in Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast.

We are seeking a commercially minded and analytical Financial Analyst to support the Head of Finance in delivering financial reporting, business insights, and performance analysis across the business.

This role offers a unique blend of financial analysis, financial accounting, and data analytics, partnering closely with operational teams to drive performance, support strategic decision-making, and improve reporting through automation and business intelligence tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse revenue, margins, production costs, and operational KPIs.
• Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and insights.
• Support monthly management reporting and board reporting packs.
• Prepare profitability, scenario, and investment analysis to support business decisions, particularly for Capex projects.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist accountant to review the weekly P&L and management reports.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within ERP systems.
• Assist with the process of Internal Audit to ensure compliance with established procedures or agreed business objectives.
• Extract, analyse, and interpret data using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and ERP systems.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and business insights.

• Drive continuous improvement across finance reporting and analytics.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification (preferable).
• Experience in FP&A, Management Accounting, Commercial Finance, or Financial Accounting.
• Experience with SQL querying and data analysis skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and Power Query.
• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Experience working with ERP and planning systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within food manufacturing, food processing, agribusiness, or FMCG.
• Experience in reporting automation and finance process improvement.
