Job summary

Financial Advice Association of Australia is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join a growing Canberra practice. You will work with an established client base, deliver holistic financial advice, and build long-term relationships across retirement planning, superannuation, wealth management, and risk insurance.

Relocation support may be available and you will benefit from dedicated paraplanning and administration support, plus direct mentoring from an experienced Principal Financial

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Experience in retirement planning and superannuation is highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality financial advice and positive client outcomes.
  • Experience with defined benefit superannuation schemes is advantageous, but not essential.

Are you a Financial Planner looking for an opportunity to focus on what matters most delivering quality advice and helping clients achieve their financial goals?

We are seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join a growing financial planning practice based in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a role with an established client base, strong referral network, and the support required to provide exceptional advice without the pressure of building a client base from scratch.

For candidates considering a move to Canberra, relocation support may be available to assist with the transition.

About the role:

You will work closely with clients to provide holistic financial advice, develop tailored strategies, and build long-term relationships across areas including:

  • Retirement planning
  • Superannuation and defined benefit schemes
  • Wealth creation and investment strategies
  • Pension and retirement income planning
  • Personal risk insurance

You will be responsible for conducting client meetings, preparing strategic advice, managing ongoing reviews, and identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes.

About you:
  • Experienced Financial Planner with relevant qualifications and authorisation (or the ability to become authorised)
  • Candidates who are well progressed through their Professional Year and working towards full qualification are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates earlier in their Professional Year journey will also be considered if they have passed the Financial Adviser Exam and hold the required academic qualifications (e.g., Kaplan Advanced Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality advice and positive client outcomes
  • Experience in retirement planning and superannuation is highly regarded
  • Experience with defined benefit superannuation schemes is advantageous, but not essential
