Job summary

SOILCO is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team at Kembla Grange. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will contribute to financial reporting, compliance, cashflow management and strategic insights to support our business.

This role is suitable for a part-qualified or newly qualified CPA/CA looking to broaden experience and grow with an industry leader in soils and organics recycling.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA part-qualified or newly qualified, with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and compliance.
• Experience preparing financial information across multiple entities.
• Strong Excel and financial systems capability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage general accounting functions, including the general ledger, reconciliations and month-end/year-end close across multiple entities.
• Support statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Manage ATO and payroll-related compliance, including BAS, FBT, PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and group policies.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
• Identify and implement process and systems improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Build strong relationships across the finance team and wider business, providing support and guidance where required.
