Job summary

people2people is seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant for a maternity leave contract in inner north Brisbane. You will manage monthly reporting, year-end processes, and tax/compliance workpapers while collaborating with finance and operations stakeholders.

The role offers hybrid work and a supportive team environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own financial reporting across multiple entities, with involvement in process improvements and offshore guidance,

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Financial Accountant or similar
• Strong month-end reporting and reconciliation experience
• Compliance experience across BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT
• Advanced Excel skills
• ERP experience with Dynamics NAV/Business Central
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Proactive and team-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
• Ownership of month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Revenue reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of tax and compliance workpapers
• BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT compliance
• Audit preparation and support
• Bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting
• Providing guidance to an offshore accounting resource
• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives and finance projects
