Job summary

Adecco Australia Group is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Sydney CBD team in a hands-on role covering financial and management reporting, tax, budgeting, and regulatory reporting. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement and broad exposure within the banking/financial services sector.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and the overseas head office, handling day-to-day accounting, statutory reporting, and tax obligations while developing your broader

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Big 4 experience highly regarded.
• Experience in banking or financial services preferred.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Proficiency with Xero.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and judgement.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities including expenses and loans.
• Review and maintain loan data in Excel.
• Support cash flow management and interdepartmental data gathering.
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports including APRA reporting.
• Prepare PAYG, BAS and FBT tax reporting.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes.
• Prepare regular financial reports for overseas head office.
• Assist with budgeting, variance analysis and ad hoc projects.
• Support external audits and financial statement preparation.

About Us

An established international financial institution is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Sydney CBD team.

This is a hands-on accounting position covering financial and management reporting, taxation, budgeting, regulatory reporting and day-to-day accounting activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and the organisation's overseas head office. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement and is ideal for an accountant looking to develop broader experience within the banking and financial services sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities, primarily relating to expenses and loans, using Xero
• Review and maintain loan data using Excel
• Support cash flow management and gather information from internal departments
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports, including APRA reporting
• Prepare tax reporting including PAYG, BAS and FBT
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes
• Prepare regular financial reports for the overseas head office
• Assist with expense budgeting and variance analysis
• Support external audits and preparation of financial statements
• Assist with ad hoc accounting and finance-related projects

Your Profile

• 3+ years' experience in a similar accounting role
• Big 4 accounting firm experience will be highly regarded
• Experience within banking or financial services would also be highly regarded
• A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Experience using Xero
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Japanese language skills would be advantageous, but are not essential
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
