Description

PCH Civil is now an established name in the WA Civil Construction space, with an expanding portfolio of mining and infrastructure clients driving growth across all areas of our business.

We are looking for a financial accountant who is eager to make their mark, takes ownership of their work, and is excited to innovate and improve processes, systems, and workflows.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in our month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity, and financial controls oversight.

Finance and reporting are a team effort here, so we’re looking for someone who is technically strong but also willing to get involved, support the people around them and contribute to the wider team.

Ours is a culture of continuous improvement and progress, where our team is empowered to drive change and trusted to own that, including practical uses of automation and AI within the Finance function.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take ownership of monthly P&L preparation, including accruals, cost reallocations and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with Project Controls and the Finance Manager on monthly project and overhead accruals
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
  • Support preparation of monthly management reporting, including P&L and balance sheet analysis
  • Support the Finance Manager and Project Controls to consolidate project cashflow into the business’s 13-week cashflow forecast
  • Maintain fixed asset acquisition, disposal and amortisation schedules
  • Support annual budgeting, business planning and work-in-hand forecasting
  • Assist with annual financial statements and external audit requirements
  • Work closely with Project Controls, Payroll, AP and operational stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve Finance processes, including the integration of new systems and technology

What we’re looking for

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 5+ years’ relevant accounting experience
  • Strong month-end financial reporting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to monthly deadlines
  • Advanced accounting system experience (ERP highly regarded)
  • Confident communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders outside Finance
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to contribute across a small, collaborative team
  • An adaptable and curious mindset, with an interest in automation and AI
  • Construction, civil, engineering or mining experience is highly regarded
