Job summary

Fire and Safety Industries in Mansfield, QLD is seeking a Finance Team Leader to support the Finance team and the Commercial Manager. You will supervise the finance team, manage AP/AR back-up, and drive process improvements.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA or CA, plus 5 years in a finance role and at least 3 years leading a small team. You will deliver monthly reporting and manage cash flow, debtors, and reporting requests.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the finance team, including back-up across AP/AR functions.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting, GL reconciliations, bank reconciliations and corporate card reconciliations.
• Manage daily cash flow, debtors accounts and debt collection activities.
• Liaise with dept. leaders to monitor invoicing and WIP; respond to ad hoc reporting.
• Identify and drive financial process improvements and payroll system enhancements.
• Provide back-up support for Payroll and Superannuation functions.
• Monitor asset register and capital expenditure requirements.
• Minor maintenance of system general ledger requirements.

About the Role:

We are looking for a robust all-round Finance Team Leader to support the Finance team and Department Manager.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

• Supervise and support the finance team, including providing back-up support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as required.
• Prepare and complete monthly financial reporting, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations and corporate card reconciliations.
• Manage daily cash flow, debtors accounts and debt collection activities.
• Liaise with departmental leaders to monitor and maintain outstanding invoicing and WIP, as well as respond to ad hoc enquiries and reporting requests.
• Identify and drive financial process improvements and projects, including payroll systems enhancements.
• Provide back-up support for Payroll and Superannuation functions as required.
• Monitor and maintain the asset register, including internal capital expenditure requirements.
• Minor maintenance of system general ledger requirements.

We are looking for someone with:

• A degree in Accounting / Finance and recently completed CPA or CA
• 5 years’ experience in a similar finance role preferred, including a minimum of 3 years' experience leading or supervising a small finance team
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive and implement process improvements
• Ability to think strategically
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
• High attention to detail and strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• A collaborate approach, with the ability to be a team player
• The ability and experience to act as the 2IC to the Commercial Manager
