Cadence Connect in Brisbane is seeking a reporting-focused professional to own the performance data for receivables and payables. You will partner with the Brisbane finance team and offshore SSC to make financial processes visible, measurable and improvable.
This is transactional reporting, not financial reporting, with two-thirds time on reporting/analysis and one-third on systems and process work. You’ll rely on SAP and Power BI daily to drive improvements across order-to-cash and payment
This is a long established global business with a significant Australian operation and a finance function that has been together a long time. Transactional processing now sits with an offshore shared services centre, which has freed the Brisbane team up but has also moved the day to day detail further away from the people accountable for it.
The business wants someone in Brisbane who owns the reporting on that detail. Not someone who runs the ledgers, someone who makes the performance of the receivables and payables functions visible, measurable and improvable. Where collections are sitting, what is overdue and why, where invoices are getting stuck, and what the data is saying about the underlying process.
If you have come up through a transactional or credit environment and you want your next move to be about reporting and analysis rather than processing, this is a clean way to make it. If you're an accountant that wants to move into more of a reporting analytical role this is also an excellent step in your career.
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working alongside an established finance team, you will sit between the Brisbane finance function, the wider business and the offshore shared services team. You will own the reporting and analysis across credit, collections and payables, and you will be the person Finance puts into system and process projects when something needs testing or someone needs to flag the finance implications early.
This is transactional reporting, not financial reporting. There are no P&Ls, no balance sheets and no statutory accounts in this role. If you are looking for month end close and technical accounting, this is not that job.
The role splits roughly two thirds reporting and analysis, one third systems and process work, with the balance moving depending on what projects are running.
This role suits someone curious enough to chase a number back to its cause rather than report it and move on, and confident enough to say what a change will do to Finance before it happens. Underneath that sits a real technical foundation. You will be in SAP and Power BI most days and the reporting has to be right.
Around $130k plus super, with a bonus component on offer. Brisbane CBD, hybrid working, and a finance team with enough tenure that you will have people to learn the business from. You will come out of this role with SAP, Power BI and process improvement experience in a global environment, which is a strong platform whichever direction you take next.
