Job summary

Summit Auto Lease Australia in Sydney is seeking a motivated Finance Officer to join our expanding Finance team. The role covers accounts receivable, accounts payable, lease and contract administration, financial reporting and vehicle-related transactions.

You will work across the fleet leasing business, collaborate with Finance, Credit, Sales and Operations, and have opportunities to broaden your finance experience and progress toward credit and broader finance responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Finance Officer or Accounts Officer role.
• Qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business is beneficial.
• Proven reconciliation and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage AR/AP incl. invoicing, allocations, reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections and queries.
• Process weekly direct debits, refunds and finance transactions.
• Support lease and contract administration, incl. termination calculations.
• Maintain accurate financial, lease and vehicle records across systems.
• Assist with month-end processes, journals and reporting.
• Prepare portfolio reports and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries.
• Support audit, compliance and internal control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Develop knowledge of fleet leasing, credit and account management.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-orientedFinance Officerto join our team in Sydney.

This is a newly created role within our expanding Finance team, offering an exciting opportunity to join the business at a time of continued growth. The position is a broad finance role within the Australian Fleet Leasing and Management industry, providing exposure across accounts receivable, accounts payable, lease and contract administration, financial reporting and vehicle-related transactions.

The role will suit someone looking to broaden their finance experience, work closely with multiple areas of the business and develop their career across finance, fleet leasing and credit.

Reporting to the National Manager Credit & Finance, you will work closely with Finance, Credit, Sales, Operations, Maintenance and Vehicle Disposals. This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their finance experience and develop towards a career in Fleet Finance and Credit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities, including invoicing, payment allocations, reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections and resolution of account queries.
• Prepare and process weekly direct debits, refunds and other finance-related transactions.
• Support lease and contract administration, including early termination calculations, contract reconciliations and vehicle sales.
• Maintain accurate financial, lease and vehicle records across relevant systems.
• Assist with month-end processes, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare portfolio reports and assist with ad hoc financial analysis.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve financial and customer account queries.
• Support audit, compliance and internal control requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Develop broader knowledge of fleet leasing, credit and account management with the opportunity to take on additional credit responsibilities over time.

About You

• You will be a proactive and organised finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in getting the detail right.
• Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer or similar finance role.
• Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across a business.
• A willingness to learn and develop across finance, leasing and credit.
• Experience in fleet leasing, asset finance, vehicle finance, financial services or contract administration would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Experience with miles or a similar leasing/financial system is also desirable.
• A qualification or studies in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline would be beneficial.
