Job summary

ESE Aus Group in Rocklea, Brisbane is seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. You will manage AP/AR, process payments, and maintain ledgers with a focus on accuracy and compliance in a hands-on finance role.

You should have a tertiary accounting/finance qualification and at least five years in finance or accounting, with strong attention to detail and good communication to liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance and Business Commerce or equivalent to the role.
• Proven 5 years' experience in a Finance or Accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
• Review and verify invoices and payment requests.
• Monitor and manage debtor accounts, including regular follow-up on outstanding invoices and proactive collection of overdue payments.
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
• Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant awards and legislation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax obligations (BAS, PAYG, superannuation), and company policies.
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and 3rd party stakeholders.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Be respectful towards the organisation, colleagues, clients and the general public.
