Job summary

UnitingCare Wesley Bowden is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join the Strategy and Impact Division on a full-time, 12-month temporary contract. You will process supplier invoices, prepare payments, reconcile statements and support month-end activities, audits, and process improvements.

The role requires experience with Sage Intacct or similar software, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process payment runs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Respond to supplier enquiries regarding payments and accounts.
  • Maintain vendor records and update supplier information.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and taxation requirements (GST/VAT).
  • Assist with month-end close activities including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Support internal/external audits with documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support Accounts Receivable with invoicing and receipting.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our Strategy and Impact Division on a full-time, 12-month temporary contract.Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will support the Finance and Services teams and deliver a high standard of financial administrative support to the organisation, including:

About the Role
  • Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and processing payment runs.

  • Responding to supplier enquiries regarding payments and account balances.
  • Maintaining accurate vendor records and update supplier information as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and taxation requirements (GST/VAT where applicable).
  • Assisting with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Supporting internal and external audit requests by providing relevant documentation.
  • Identifying and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supporting Accounts Receivable with invoicing and receipting.
