Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to own the day-to-day finance function in Sydney's CBD. You will work closely with senior leadership, delivering robust financial management, reporting and commercial support to drive strategic decisions.

You’ll lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, manage month-end and balance sheet reconciliation, and oversee payroll and compliance. This is a hands-on, influential role with broad visibility across the business.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Approximately 8+ years’ accounting experience.
• Experience within professional services, consulting or another project-based environment.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Experience managing month-end and financial reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero, including payroll.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
• Confidence working directly with senior stakeholders.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the finance function and provide monthly management reporting and financial analysis.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Oversee month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce project and operational financial reporting.
• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and cash collection oversight.
• Oversee accounts payable and payment processing.
• Handle payroll and statutory obligations.
• Maintain strong financial controls and processes.
• Support senior leaders with budgets and financial performance.
• Liaise with external accountants, banks and advisers.
• Provide commercial and financial input across the business.
• Oversee transactional finance activities.
