Job summary

Perigon Group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for an interim assignment at a flagship hotel in Sydney. You will report to the Director of Finance for the group and oversee accounting, compliance and controls, with a focus on timely financial reporting.

You will drive forecasting cycles, management information, and commercial insights for hotel leadership, ensuring SOX compliance and strong audit readiness.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) is required.
• Previous Finance Manager or Senior Accountant experience in a hotel or hospitality group.
• Advanced Excel and Word, with strong administrative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, journaling, trial balances and P&L, with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Handle statutory reporting (BAS, FBT, tax) and SOX compliance activities.
• Support DOF with forecasting, budgeting, and management information reporting.
• Act as main liaison for internal and external audits.

Job description

Global hosptality group looking for seasoned Finance Manager to join one of their flagship Sydney based Hotels on an interim basis.
Reporting into the Director of Finance for the Group your role will include:

Accounting and compliance

• Month-end close, including journal voucher review, trial balances, general ledgers and P&Ls, plus balance sheet reconciliations.
• Statutory reporting: BAS, FBT and tax.
• Internal controls over assets, liabilities, revenue and costs, all in line with Worldwide policy.
• SOX compliance, including quarterly self-audits and following up on any issues.
• Main liaison for internal and external audits.

Daily operations and forecasting

• Managing the daily revenue, payroll and expense reporting cycle, and reviewing daily reports to chase errors.
• Weekly forecasts, monthly rolling forecasts, and the annual operating and capital budget.
• Analysing data, spotting trends and reporting variances.

Support to the Director of Finance and hotel leadership

• Helping the DOF advise the GM and hotel team on financial and commercial matters, including interpreting financial data.
• Helping build timely, accurate management information and performance reporting.
• Reviewing best practice in accounting and control procedures.
• Monitoring compliance in the finance function and flagging exceptions.

To be considered for this role

• CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role within a Hotel or Hospitality group
• Advanced Excel and Word skills, and strong admin and communication skills.
