Job summary

The Sheet Society is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial reporting, planning and controls for a fast-growing retail brand in Australia. You will own the close, drive commercial insight, and partner with the CFO to guide growth across the business.

You will lead a small finance team, optimise processes, and oversee payroll, tax, and treasury. A CA/CPA qualification with hands-on experience in retail or high-growth SMEs will help you succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager or senior commercial finance role.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or consumer products is highly regarded.
• Experience in founder-led or high-growth SME environments.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control capability.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate financials into insights.
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling capabilities.
• Payroll processing and compliance experience.
• Proven people leadership experience and coaching ability.
• Experience using Xero highly regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with ability to see the big picture.
• Proactive, continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and deliver accurate monthly reporting (P&L, balance sheet, commentary).
• Maintain the general ledger and key balance sheet/control accounts.
• Improve the financial control environment as the business grows.
• Partner with leaders and CFO to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Lead monthly performance reviews and budgeting/forecasting processes.
• Oversee year-end reporting, audit, and tax/compliance across entities.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury and FX hedging.
• Oversee payroll processing and compliance with awards and taxes.
• Manage supplier payments and drive better terms.
• Lead financial analysis to support pricing and ROI decisions.
• Drive core finance systems automation and improvements.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Finance team.
