Job summary

Our client, a leading European furniture manufacturer, is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to lead a small team in Melbourne and build strong finance foundations for Australian operations. You will report to the Country Manager with matrix support from Group Finance, driving reliable reporting and commercial insight.

You will own month-end close, budgeting, cash flow, controls, and compliance across two brands while partnering with regional and group functions to reduce key person risk.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification and accounting degree are essential.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with people management desirable.
• Experience managing full-cycle month-end and end-to-end financial reporting in an international group.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Corporations Act and tax requirements.
• Proven ability to document and improve finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering management, statutory and group reporting.
• Map and document finance processes across two brands and build cross-training coverage.
• Provide commercial and financial input to support sales performance and initiatives.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and working capital.
• Oversee compliance, tax obligations, audits, and control environment.
• Manage local HR administration and health and safety coordination.
• Act as the link between Australian business and Group Finance.
