Job summary

Sydney Restaurant Group is seeking a Finance Manager (2IC to GFC) to run group finance day-to-day, lead a Sydney-and-Philippines team, and act as the Director when the GFC is away. You will own monthly closes, cash forecasts and the overall financial flow across venues.

Ideal candidates are CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years in senior finance, experienced in multi-entity consolidation, and familiar with hospitality or multi-site operations with daily trade and weekly payroll.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years in senior finance and ownership of a full month-end close.
• Fluent in multi-entity consolidation across separate legal entities.
• Experience in hospitality or multi-site business with daily trade and weekly payroll.
• Owner of rolling cash-flow forecast in current or recent role.
• Led offshore team members and integrated them into the team.
• Sydney-based and comfortable spending time in venues.

Responsibilities

• The close — complete month-end for all entities by working day 5.
• The cash — maintain a rolling 13-week group forecast used for funding decisions.
• The team — hire, train and direct accountants, bookkeepers and payroll specialists.
• The seat at the table — provide monthly reviews with Operations Managers influencing venue decisions.
• The acting Director role — cover when the Group Financial Controller is away.

Finance Manager — 2IC to the Group Financial Controller

Our last Finance Manager is now our Group Financial Controller.

That’s the path this role is built on. We need the person who comes next — someone who can run group finance day to day, lead their own team, and run the whole function when the Group Financial Controller is away.

This isn’t a close-and-report job. Behind Aqua Dining, Sails Lavender Bay, The Nielsen, Ripples and Riva Rose Bay sits a multi-entity group with daily cash and card takings, weekly payroll and a stocktake every month. You’ll own the machinery that makes sense of it — and you’ll have the authority to change how it runs.

You’ll be
