Job summary

Jobtailor in Australia seeks a senior financial leader to oversee day-to-day finance operations, from AP/AR and payroll to treasury and GL. You will prepare statutory and management reports and drive governance and controls in a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualified or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in financial control, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment.
• Strong experience in a SaaS company and understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV).
• Experience implementing financial systems such as Xero or NetSuite with governance focus.
• Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Legally authorized to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day finance function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reporting, and board outputs.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
• Ensure timely and compliant tax filings and regulatory reporting.
• Lead external audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.
• Lead the R&D tax incentive process, including data collection and stakeholder coordination.
• Manage payroll, accounting, and bookkeeping vendors.
• Lead implementation of financial systems and automation tools.
• Design and document scalable financial processes and controls.
• Implement process improvements to strengthen financial governance, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Deliver high-quality accounting processes and effective internal financial controls.
• Protect and safeguard business assets, including IP, inventory, and operational assets.
• Build and manage relationships with executives, tax advisors, banks, and outsourced providers.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, sales, and operations teams.
