Job summary

Jobtailor in Melbourne, Australia, seeks an experienced Finance Leader to oversee day-to-day operations and drive strategic financial planning. The role partners with senior leadership to deliver insights, maintain internal controls and ensure compliance.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, external reporting, and Workday ERP configuration, mentoring a finance team and optimizing processes across the business.

Qualifications

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations including treasury, FP&A, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and deliver financial plans, insights and analysis to the Executive Board.
• Partner with business leaders to translate financial insights into actionable initiatives.
• Ensure timely external reporting and regulatory obligations, including taxation and bank covenant reporting.
• Design, implement and maintain robust internal controls across key financial processes.
• Serve as Workday ERP Finance module lead and manage configuration changes and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Support operational business units in developing financial plans
• Partner with business leaders to translate financial insights into actionable initiatives
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of external reporting and regulatory obligations, including taxation and bank covenant reporting
• Design, implement and maintain robust internal controls across key financial processes
• Serve as Workday ERP Finance module lead and manage configuration changes and process improvement
• Oversee financial forecasts, analysis and commentary for the Director of Group Finance and Leadership Group
• Lead treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, cash reserve management, payment approvals and foreign currency transactions
• Coordinate Group Finance resourcing, capacity requirements and absences
• Lead, mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback and support
• Oversee partner profit distributions, including elections, beneficiary records, payment calculations and reports
• Support administration of the Partner Welfare Policy
• Manage financial compliance requirements associated with partner appointments and terminations
• Support strategic initiatives, ad hoc activities and projects as required

Requirements

• CA or equivalent
• Degree Qualified
• 3+ years in a senior role leading finance teams
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills
• High level written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised in relation to personal and team activities
• Ability to operate at all levels, including at a transactional level where required
• Strong decision-making skills
• Excellent analytical skills combined with sound business acumen
• Experience working in professional services firms (desirable)
• Experience with Workday / Adaptive Planning (desirable)
• Experience with taxation of trusts and trust accounting (desirable)
