The Opportunity

The Finance Controller is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This role manages financial planning, reporting, and analysis, and is critical to guiding strategic business decisions.

The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and experienced professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Management of all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and payroll
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all financial reports are accurate and compliant with all relevant laws and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage the annual budgeting process and produce regular financial forecasts. Analyse variances and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and manage all audit activities. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Cash Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
  • Strategic Support: Partner with senior leadership to support business growth initiatives and make data-driven decisions by providing financial analysis and advice.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • System Management: Oversee the company's financial systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management position.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management.
  • Experience working with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Xero accounting software experience is preferable
