Job summary

splose, an AI-powered practice management platform, is seeking a senior financial leader for its Sydney hybrid team. You will manage daily finance functions, prepare financial statements, and drive governance and process improvements while coordinating audits and tax incentives.

Ideal candidates hold a CPA/CA, have 5+ years in financial control within SaaS/tech, and understand SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV). Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV).

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day finance functions across AP/AR, payroll, treasury and GL.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Lead external audit preparation and coordinate with auditors.
  • Oversee R&D tax incentive processes and external advisor coordination.
  • Develop and implement scalable financial processes and internal controls.
  • Protect company assets and manage vendor relationships for payroll and accounting.

What you'll do

Financial Operations & Reporting


  • Manage the day to day finance function including hands on preparation and review across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasure and general ledger activities.


  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including management reporting and board outputs.Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.


  • Ensure timely and compliant tax filings and regulatory reporting.


  • Lead external audit preparation and coordinate the audit process with external auditors.


  • Lead the R&D tax incentive process including data collection, stakeholder coordination and management of external advisors.


  • Vendor management for payroll, accounting, and bookkeeping.



Systems & Process Development


  • Lead the implementation of financial systems and automation tools.


  • Design and document scalable financial processes and controls.


  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial governance, accuracy and efficiency.


  • Deliver high quality accounting processes that ensure understanding of performance and provide effective internal financial controls.


  • Protect and safeguard the assets of the business, including IP, inventory, and other operational assets.



Stakeholder Management


  • Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including the executive team, tax advisors, banks and outsourced providers.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, sales, and operations teams.



What you'll bring


  • CPA/CA qualified or equivalent.


  • 5+ years of experience in financial control, ideally in a SaaS or tech environment.


  • Strong experience in a SaaS company, and understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, etc.).


  • Proven experience implementing financial systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, or similar) with a focus on governance.


  • Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.


  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.



How you'll work

While we’re proudly based in Adelaide, we’re a flexible, multi-city team — this role will work in a hybrid environment at our office in Sydney (Bondi Junction).
