Job summary

Humero Recruitment Partners supports a well-established Australian mining organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on an initial contract with a strong view to permanency. You will take on a hands-on leadership role, oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll and analytics, and report to the CFO with a clear path to senior management responsibilities.

We are seeking a CA/CPA-qualified professional with significant post-qualification experience and a proven ability to lead finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the finance team across PP&E, payables, receivables, payroll and analytics.
• Own month-end and year-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet integrity.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver management reporting and insights.
• Oversee statutory, tax and audit obligations for the group.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.

About the Opportunity

Humero Recruitment Partners are exclusively partnering with a well-established Australian mining organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on an initial contract, with a strong view to permanency for the right candidate.

This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager, or a strong Senior Financial Accountant with team oversight experience who is ready to step up into a broader leadership remit. You’ll take on a combination of technical accounting and finance leadership responsibilities, with an immediate start preferred to allow a structured handover.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will provide oversight of the finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and analyst team members, while supporting both operational and corporate finance activities. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who is technically strong, commercially minded, and comfortable stepping in quickly and making a difference from day one. For a Senior Financial Accountant, it offers a genuine step into management with real exposure to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the finance team across payables, receivables, payroll and financial analysis
• Own month-end and year-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet integrity
• Partner with operational teams to deliver accurate management reporting and commercial insights
• Oversee statutory, tax and audit obligations across the group
• Drive process improvements, strengthen financial controls and support the CFO on corporate finance initiatives

About You

• CA/CPA qualified with significant post-qualification experience
• Background as a Finance Manager, or a strong Senior Financial Accountant ready to step up
• Proven experience leading or overseeing finance team members across transactional and analytical functions
• Strong technical accounting skills with sound commercial judgement
• Experience within mining, resources or another project-based industry highly regarded
• Available immediately or on minimal notice
