Job summary

Foundry Talent Partners in Sydney seeks an experienced Head of Finance to build and lead a finance function for a growing private credit fund. You will report directly to the CFO and partner with senior management and the Board to shape strategy and governance.

You will oversee month-end close, NAV, tax compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting (APRA/ASIC), while embedding strong controls and driving automation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in finance leadership roles in funds or asset management.
• Experience with APRA/ASIC reporting and fund compliance.
• Experience leading external audits and statutory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax in Australia.
• Proven team leadership, including offshore/outsourced resources.
• Experience implementing institutional-grade controls and SOX-style frameworks.
• Experience transforming finance with automation/AI tools.
• Understanding of fund accounting or private credit/assets.
• Excellent stakeholder management reporting to executives, boards, investors.
• Experience scaling finance for growing funds.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, investor/board reporting, NAV calculations.
• Lead audit process and maintain documentation.
• Ensure APRA/ASIC regulatory reporting is accurate.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting for all fund entities.
• Build and embed SOX-style controls.
• Drive automation of transactional processes (AP, AR, payroll).
• Oversee distributions and performance fee calculations.
• Support investor reporting and communications.
• Manage a team of four.
• Drive process improvements and AI adoption in finance.
