Job summary

Gough Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join its Sydney team. You’ll own both fund finance and the operational finance of the broader business, working closely with senior leadership and asset management teams.

We’re looking for someone detail-focused, with strong multi-entity exposure and the ability to operate in a smaller, hands-on environment. Sage experience is highly regarded in this role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience across finance/accounting.
• Fund accounting and investment management exposure.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Experience across multiple entities and investment structures.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented in a smaller team environment; Sage experience valued.
• Commercial office experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting across funds, trusts, SPVs and corporate entities, including month-end and statements.
• Oversee fund accounting, cash flow, distributions, capital movements, budgets and forecasts.
• Own broader day-to-day finance operations beyond fund accounting.
• Collaborate with investment and asset management teams on acquisitions and asset performance.
• Coordinate tax, audit, compliance and statutory reporting with external advisers.
• Improve financial processes, systems, reporting and controls as the business grows.

An established investment group is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join its Sydney team.

This is not a role where you’ll sit purely within fund reporting. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, investment and asset management teams, taking ownership across both fund finance and the operational finance of the broader business.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being in the detail, close to the assets and involved in what is happening across the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Managing financial reporting across funds, trusts, SPVs and corporate entities, including month-end, management reporting and financial statements.
• Overseeing fund accounting, cash flow, distributions, capital movements, budgets and forecasting.
• Taking ownership of the broader day-to-day finance operations of the business, rather than operating solely as a fund accountant.
• Working closely with the investment and asset management teams on acquisitions, transactions, asset performance and financial analysis.
• Managing tax, audit, compliance and statutory reporting requirements while coordinating with external advisers.
• Improving financial processes, systems, reporting and controls as the business continues to grow.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• 6+ years' experience across finance/accounting.
• Previous experience within funds, investment management, private equity, property investment or a similar environment.
• Strong operational accounting experience alongside your fund exposure.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management capability.
• Experience working across multiple entities, trusts or investment structures.
• The ability to operate in a smaller, hands-on environment where you will be expected to get into the detail.
• Sage experience highly regarded.
• Commercial office experience highly desirable.
