Job summary

Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport in Sydney is seeking a Clerk Grade 7/8 to support finance governance and operational improvements within statutory requirements. The role interfaces with the Finance Branch and partner units to deliver sound advice and timely reporting.

The position offers hybrid working arrangements based in Sydney CBD, with a full-time temporary contract up to 30 July 2027. Competitive salary aligned with Clerk Grade 7/8 and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience influencing and mobilising others to implement financial governance.
• Knowledge of NSW Public Sector financial policies and statutory requirements.
• Building customer and stakeholder relationships, end-of-month journals and reporting.
• Experience using Calumo for forecasting and reporting; advanced Excel skills.

• Exciting opportunity to join the Finance Business Partnering & Operations team, within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport


• This is a Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $116,981 - $129,492 per annum plus superannuation


• Full-time temporary role (up to 30 July 2027) based in Sydney CBD, hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs

About The Role

The role supports relationship management and is a conduit between the Finance Branch and managers across DCITHS. It services designated business units to identify issues and support the employment offinance related strategic and operation improvement and solutions within statutory requirements, policy,procedures and standards

The role collaborates with the cohort of Senior Finance Business Partners/Finance Business Partners acrossthe organisation to facilitate consistency, compliance and best practice; and has strong ties with theReporting and Insights teams to arrange reports, insights and tools.

Working with partner business units the role develops recommendations and actions to address issuesutilising the reports and insights teams.

The role seeks subject matter experts’ information, clarifications and interpretations as necessary toconsolidate and deliver sound advice and recommendations to partner business unit

About You

We are looking for someone with the following key knowledge and experience:

• Experience in influencing and mobilising others, to implement financial governance and best practice financial strategies and operations.


• Developed knowledge and understanding of the NSW Public Sector environment, financial management policies, processes and the relevant regulatory/legislative/statutory requirements that underpin organisational financial operations


• Building business customer and stakeholder relationships, end-of-month journals and reporting


• Experience using Calumo for forecasting and reporting, being adaptable to constant changes and advanced Microsoft excel skills
