Job summary

The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport in Sydney is seeking a Gaming Technology Project Lead to drive reforms in safe and responsible gaming. You will oversee end-to-end delivery of complex projects, coordinating with industry, regulators and government agencies to inform policy and implementation.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage governance and produce concise briefing materials for executive decisions, while evaluating emerging technologies and pilots

About the Role

We're looking for a Gaming Technology Project Lead to play a key role in delivering reforms that support a safer, fairer and more responsible gaming environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of government policy, industry transformation and emerging technology, helping deliver initiatives that will have a lasting impact..

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects that support the Government's gambling reform agenda. Working closely with industry stakeholders, technology providers, regulators and government agencies, you'll coordinate initiatives from concept through to implementation, ensuring projects are well-governed, thoroughly analysed and supported by robust documentation for executive and ministerial decision-making.

You don't need to be a technology expert. What matters is your ability to lead complex projects, navigate competing priorities, analyse information from multiple sources and bring people together to deliver successful outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to evaluate emerging technologies, oversee pilot programs and help inform decisions that influence the future of gaming regulation and reform in NSW.

About You

You are an experienced project or program professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and enjoys turning ideas into outcomes.

You bring strong project management, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and drive initiatives from planning through to delivery.

You are comfortable analysing information, identifying risks and opportunities, and preparing clear, high-quality reports and briefing materials to support executive and ministerial decision-making.

You'll be someone who can build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders, influence outcomes, and confidently navigate competing priorities and perspectives.

Strong attention to detail is essential, particularly when managing governance processes and ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and aligned with policy and regulatory requirements.

Most importantly, you're motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful reform, improve outcomes for the community and help shape the future direction of gaming in NSW.

You'll be successful if you have:

• Demonstrated experience leading complex projects, programs or reform initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
• Experience preparing high-quality reports, briefs, recommendations and governance documentation.
• Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
• The ability to work collaboratively across government, industry and diverse stakeholder groups.
• A track record of delivering reform outcomes in complex and evolving environments.
