Job summary

Create NSW is seeking a First Nations Program Delivery Officer to support grants delivery and coordination for First Nations programs across NSW. You will work with internal teams, government partners, organisations and communities to ensure transparent, efficient program delivery and positive outcomes.

You will coordinate grants processes, prepare plans and reports, and contribute to governance and evaluation activities while upholding government requirements and cultural engagement principles.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of contemporary grants management practices, ideally within a government environment.
• Experience using grants management systems such as OneGMS, SmartyGrants or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting projects or programs from planning and coordination through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and engage with diverse stakeholders.

• Join Create NSW, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport
• Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $116,981-$129,492 per annum + superannuation and leave loading
• Temporary role up to 30 June 2027 based in The Rocks, NSW

About the role

As the First Nations Program Delivery Officer, you will support the delivery of First Nations-specific grants, programs and initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for First Nations artists, organisations and communities across NSW. You will play an important role in coordinating program activities and grants administration, ensuring programs are delivered transparently, efficiently and in line with government requirements. Working collaboratively with internal teams, government partners, creative organisations and communities, you will help ensure investment achieves positive and equitable outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of First Nations programs and initiatives aligned with NSW Government priorities and the Creative Communities policy.
• Coordinate grants administration activities, including supporting applications, assessments, contracting, monitoring and acquittals in line with established processes and requirements.
• Provide project and program support, including preparing plans, documentation, reports and information for monitoring and evaluation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with government, industry partners, organisations and creative communities to support effective engagement and shared outcomes.
• Undertake research and gather information to support meaningful engagement with First Nations creative communities and inform program development and delivery.
• Coordinate and communicate program information to stakeholders and respond to enquiries, feedback and emerging issues, escalating matters where appropriate.
• Support program assessment, evaluation, governance and assurance activities, identifying risks and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Contribute to reports, submissions, correspondence, business cases and other program documentation, including House and Estimate Notes.

About You

You will be an organised and collaborative program professional who is passionate about supporting opportunities for First Nations artists, organisations and communities.

You will bring:

• Knowledge of contemporary grants management practices, ideally within a government environment.
• Experience using grants management systems such as OneGMS, SmartyGrants or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting projects or programs from planning and coordination through to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear program materials, reports and correspondence.
• The ability to build respectful and productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• An understanding of the importance of culturally appropriate engagement and equitable access to opportunities for First Nations creative communities.
