About the role

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for delivering a combination of financial accounting, reporting and business partnering across the firm.

The role maintains a core portfolio of financial accounting and control activities, including journals, reconciliations, month-end close, and statutory and compliance reporting, while providing dedicated financial support to assigned practice groups.

The role works closely with Partners and practice leadership to provide timely analysis, meaningful insights and practical recommendations that support informed decision‑making and business performance.

The position also contributes to the firm’s finance transformation agenda, including the implementation of a major ERP system and associated process improvement and change initiatives.

Through this work, the role supports the development of more effective, consistent and sustainable finance processes across the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and complete month-end accounting and reporting activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, allocations, recharges and supporting schedules.
• Support statutory, year-end and other periodic financial reporting requirements, including preparation of audit schedules and timely, evidenced responses to auditor queries.
• Apply sound technical accounting judgement, escalating complex or unusual matters with an initial assessment and recommendation.
• Act as the Finance Business Partner to the assigned practice groups, staying across what is happening in each group its performance, its people and its pressure points.
• Act as the single point of contact between the assigned practice groups and finance, resolving queries end to end and removing the need for Partners to chase across the finance function.

Who we’re after

• A relevant qualification or CA qualification is strongly preferred; candidates well progressed towards CA/CPA qualification will also be considered.
• A track record of providing sound business advice that goes beyond reporting the results.
• Experienced accountant with demonstrated capability across financial accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, statutory reporting and analysis, this is the technical foundation of the role.
