Job summary
Suncorp is seeking an Assistant Finance Analyst to join the CFO Insurance Finance team in Sydney on a 12-month contract. This hybrid role involves supporting month-end close, journals, reconciliations, and external reporting while contributing to forecasting and budgeting with insights from financial analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, up to 2 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Oracle, TM1/Cognos or Power BI, along with
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or related discipline.
- Up to 2 years' experience in accounting, finance, business analysis, or analytical roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Inquisitive mindset with ability to identify trends and variances.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence with financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end finance activities and timely delivery of financial results.
- Prepare and process journals, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
- Investigate data variances and reconciliation issues.
- Assist with monthly management reporting, Board reporting, and external reporting.
- Contribute to forecasting and budgeting through financial analysis.
- Identify process improvements to simplify reporting and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with Finance & Advice to support performance reporting.
