Job summary

Suncorp is seeking an Assistant Finance Analyst to join the CFO Insurance Finance team in Sydney on a 12‑month contract. The role is hybrid, with responsibilities spanning financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end processes under supervision from experienced finance professionals.

Ideal candidates have a degree in accounting/finance or related discipline, up to two years of experience, and strong Excel and data reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• Up to 2 years' experience in accounting, finance, business analysis, or analytical roles.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel and confidence with financial systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Support month‑end activities and ensure timely delivery of financial results.
• Prepare and process accounting journals, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
• Proactively investigate and resolve data variances and reconciliation issues.
• Assist with monthly management reporting, Board reporting, and external reporting activities.
• Contribute to forecasting and budgeting activities through financial analysis and insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements to simplify reporting and improve processes.
• Partner with Finance & Advice to support performance reporting and business decision‑making.
• Develop understanding of key business drivers and financial performance outcomes.
