Job summary

NW Mining & Civil seeks an experienced Machinist/Fitter & Turner for their Mt Isa workshop. The role involves machining precision components from lathes, mills and related equipment and assembling hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical parts. 90% workshop, 10% site work; pre-employment medical and D&A testing required.

Roster options include 2/1, 2/2 or 3/2 with a flat rate of $65/hr and 12-hour day shifts. Accommodation and meal allowance provided; local Mt Isa applicants preferred, with flights

Qualifications

• Must have strong general machining, milling & lathe skills.
• Experience manufacturing precision components for mining/industrial equipment.
• Willing to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A testing.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture precision components using lathes, mills, slotters, grinders, presses and drills.
• Assemble, repair and fit hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.
• Occasional site work (10%) and roistered work on site when required.

NW Mining & Civil are seeking an experienced Machinist/Fitter & Turner to join our client’s team based at their Mt Isa workshop.

Daily duties will include manufacturing of precision components using lathes, mills, slotters, grinders, presses and drills, in relation to the range of mining and industrial equipment our client services. You must have strong machining experience to succeed.

Additional tasks will include the assembly, repair and fitment of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.

While 90% of the work will be workshop based, the other 10% will take place on the mine site, so applicants must be willing & able to pass a pre employment medical and complete the required inductions.

Pay rate is $65/hr flat rate. All shifts are 12hr day shifts.

You can choose the roster that best suits you: 2/1, 2/2 or 3/2. Accommodation and a meal allowance provided while on shift. Local Mt Isa applicants are preferred, but flights are available from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns.

• Manual car licence (must be current)
• High risk EWP and/or Forklift would be highly regarded
• Must be able to pass a pre employment medical and D&A testing
