Job summary

Marble Group is seeking qualified HD Fitters for a growing underground copper mine in NW Queensland. This permanent role operates on a 2:2 FIFO roster with charter flights from Brisbane and Townsville, plus a strong emphasis on overtime and career progression.

You’ll work with a mobile maintenance team on a fleet of underground and surface equipment. You'll perform servicing, fault-finding, breakdowns and maintain records, with training available for underground breakdown response and

Qualifications

• Heavy diesel trade qualification and experience with heavy machinery across mining, civil or earthmoving sectors.
• Comfortable using a range of hand and power tools in challenging environments.
• Physically fit for 12-hour shifts and a reliable team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on underground and surface equipment.
• Perform fault-finding and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, engine and transmission systems.
• Conduct breakdown repairs and component changes to minimise downtime.
• Respond to underground breakdowns after appropriate training.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.

The Role

You'll be part of the mobile maintenance team, servicing and repairing a fleet of underground and surface mining equipment.

• Scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and pre-start inspections
• Fault-finding and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, engine, transmission and basic electrical systems
• Breakdown repairs and component change-outs to keep downtime to a minimum
• Underground breakdown response once you've been trained up
• Working on Sandvik drills, boggers and trucks, Normet Spraymecs and Charmecs, and a range of CAT and auxiliary gear
• Keeping maintenance records, inspection reports and work orders accurate

The Site and Roster

You’ll be at an established underground mine in N.QLD with camp just a 5 to 10 minute walk from site.

• Thursday to Thursday roster, 6am to 6pm on days and 6pm to 6am on nights
• Donga style rooms, gym, pool, and an outdoor chill-out areas
• Wet and dry mess with quality meals and regular themed food nights
• Telstra coverage, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities and an onsite shop

Your Value

You don't need to have done it all underground. If you're qualified, reliable and keen to learn, you'll fit right in.

• Heavy diesel trade qualification and worked on heavy machinery in mining, civil, earthmoving etc.
• Comfortable with a range of hand and power tools, and able to work in hot, humid conditions
• Physically fit for 12-hour shifts and team player with good communication and a drive to learn
• Current unrestricted manual driver's licence and national police check
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test and functional
