Job summary

Bosch Rexroth is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Mackay, QLD branch. You will deliver field-based service, fault diagnosis, installation and maintenance of hydraulic drive systems within heavy industry, working with complex circuits and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure reliability.

In this hands-on role, you will engage with customers on site, prepare detailed service reports, and advise on spare parts and upgrades while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
• Trade qualification in Hydraulic Fitting or equivalent
• Experience in field service and maintenance of hydraulic systems, preferably in heavy industry
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic circuits, components and diagnostics including fault finding under pressure
• Commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail
• Self-motivated with a practical, results-driven approach
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Clear and effective communication skills

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer service and breakdown requests with on-site inspections, hydraulic fault finding, repairs and testing to restore performance
• Install, commission and modernise large-scale hydraulic drive systems including motors, power units, piping, controls and components
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic issues such as pressure, flow, contamination, leakage and wear with root cause analysis
• Prepare clear service reports documenting findings, actions and recommendations for reliability and maintenance
• Act as a technical advisor to customers, suggesting repair strategies, identifying spare parts and upgrade opportunities
• Manage service documentation including reports, quotes and job records for traceability and quality
• Coordinate ordering, installation and verification of hydraulic components and conduct follow-up testing while representing the Bosch Rexroth brand
• Maintain customer confidentiality and professional conduct on-site
