Job summary

SKIDATA is seeking a Service Technician to join our Field Service Operations team in Melbourne, VIC. You’ll conduct technical service, maintenance, installation, and commissioning across sites, while managing documentation and parts via ServiceNow.

You’ll work hands-on across multiple client sites, maintaining safety standards and delivering trusted technical support. A 2–3 year service/maintenance background and Electrical/Mechanical/Advanced Electronics qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in a service, maintenance, or installation role.
• Qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Advanced Electronics (or working towards one).
• Strong computer literacy and programming skills.
• Solid problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A customer-focused mindset and commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Technical Service & Maintenance: Deliver timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnosis on SKIDATA equipment and sites.
• Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission new access systems across VIC, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
• Administration: Accurately complete work orders, installation documentation, warranty forms, and parts management in ServiceNow.
• Customer Support: Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, providing technical advice and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• OHS & Professionalism: Maintain high standards of safety, presentation, and equipment upkeep, while identifying and reporting hazards promptly.
