Job summary

Conplant Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Yatala Branch in Queensland. You will diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment on customer sites and in our workshop, providing technical guidance to minimise downtime and protect hire revenue.

The role requires a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (and ideally a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning), a current driving licence (Medium Rigid preferred), and White Card.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology is required.
• Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology is preferred.
• White Card (Construction Induction) required or obtainable.
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills needed.
• Clean driving record and licence appropriate to role.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults (mechanical, electrical, AC, hydraulics) on customer sites and in workshop.
• Provide technical advice to customers in person or by phone to minimise call-outs.
• Coordinate external resources to minimise downtime and protect hire revenue.
• Prioritise tasks and manage multiple service calls efficiently.

Job description

Conplant Pty Ltd is the largest privately owned specialist compaction and construction equipment company in Australia. Our core business includes the hire and sale of compaction and construction equipment with associated servicing and the supply of parts and transport services nationally.

We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team at our Yatala Branch. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the business, ensuring that we continue to meet and exceed customer expectation.

The role:

Undertake fault diagnosis and repair (mechanical, electrical, air conditioning and hydraulics) in a time sensitive customer facing, operational environment on customer sites and in Conplant's workshop.

Provide a range of technical advice to customers (face to face and by telephone) to assist in the effective minimisation of unscheduled call outs and where necessary co-ordinate planned and ad hoc external resource allocation to minimise downtime, maintain operational capability and contribute to the maintenance of Conplant's hire revenue stream.

You will bring:

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and ideally a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology.
• At least 5 years' experience working on heavy construction equipment, with ideally at least three years' experience in a Field Service role.
• Current driving licence and ideally a Medium Rigid licence is required. Medium Rigid licence must be held at the time of application.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively whilst managing multiple priorities.
• Computer literacy is required for use of Microsoft Office and in-house software systems.
