Job summary

Elenium Automation is seeking a Field Service Technician based at our Essendon Fields head office. You will travel domestically and internationally to install, commission and service Elenium products at customer sites, and you will be the on-site face representing the company.

The role requires strong mechanical/technical aptitude, hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, and the ability to work to SLAs using ServiceNow and Jira.

Qualifications

• Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.
• 3+ years in field service, electronics service or similar hands-on role.
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude across hardware, electronics and software.
• Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, phone and email with strict SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to provide field service support and installation for all products delivered to customers.
• Maintain and update technical documentation.
• Deliver technical support for deployed products via ServiceNow, telephone and e-mail, including triage, diagnosis and resolution of tickets.
• Manage service tickets end-to-end with clear, accurate documentation and following a RMA procedure.
• Perform minor assembly, rework and replace components, PCB modules and wiring harnesses.
• Act as the face of Elenium, liaising with customers and external stakeholders on site.

About the role

Based in our Head Office in Essendon Fields, an excellent career opportunity exists for a Field Service Technician who has a strong desire to contribute and participate in the exciting opportunities arising within a dynamic, technology business with growth and expansion plans.

Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, this position is responsible for providing hands-on technical support for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of Elenium products deployed at customer sites domestically and internationally. Additionally, the role focuses on field-based work with agreed Service Level Agreements and providing clear, professional communication to customers and internal stakeholders.

Frequent domestic and international travel will be required in this role.

Additionally, you must be able to successfully complete a criminal history check in order to obtain and maintain ASIC clearance as well as obtain a pre-employment medical clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the face of Elenium, directly liaising with customers and other external stakeholders while on site.

Inherent/Job Fitness Requirements

• Capacity to team lift, or to use mechanical aids including straps, for loads above 32kg, including the positioning of assembled, manoeuving units and crated stock.
• Frequent bending, crouching and kneeling to bolt units to floor plinths, route and terminate cabling through floor ducts, and access serviceable components housed at or below floor level.
• Capacity to work in restricted and confined positions beneath and within unit enclosures for sustained periods.
• Capacity to stand, walk and move continuously for the duration of shifts of up to 10 hours, excluding scheduled breaks.
• Ability to walk extended distances across terminal, landside and airside environments, including stairs and areas where lifts and travelators are not yet commissioned.

Skills and experience

Experience

• Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in field service, electronics service or similiar hands-on technical role.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with experience working on electro-mechnacial systems that combine hardware, electronics and software.
• Experience providing technical support via multi-channel tools, such as ServiceNow, Jira, phone and e-mail, and working to strict SLAs.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain excellent relationships with a range of key stakeholders, to include key decision makers.
• Good organisational skills with an ability to plan and prioritise competing work requirements and work towards tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Adaptable and able to work autonomously and in dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
• Proactive and reactive problem solving skills with an ability to "think outside the box".

• 24V DC Control System experience
• A-Grade Electrical Licence
• Experience in control panel wiring and assembly
• Knowledge of fault-finding techniques in both electronics and electrical systems
• Working understanding of ISO9001 for design and development activities.
