Job summary

Programmed Maintenance Services in Brisbane, QLD is seeking a Field Service Technician specializing in sterilisation and reprocessing equipment. You will install, validate, service and repair CSSD, surgical and endoscopy reprocessing systems across hospitals, with travel across the region.

You will train users, provide remote and on-site support, and help manage spare parts inventory while reporting to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

• Restricted or Full Electrical Licence.
• Strong communication and customer facing skills.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with field service equipment.
• Trade Certificate, Technical Certificate or Diploma.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Willingness to travel and occasional after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment installations, preventive maintenance, validations and repairs in the field.
• Support customers by site visits, phone and email with product support.
• Deliver in-service sessions and user/technical training.

Field Service Technician: Sterilisation and Reprocessing Equipment

Location: Brisbane or Gold Coast, Queensland

The Opportunity
Our client is strengthening its Australian service organisation and is hiring Field Service Technicians to install, validate, service and repair a range of CSSD, surgical and endoscopy reprocessing equipment. You will provide user training and troubleshooting support to customers across hospitals and healthcare sites, and assist the Service Manager and Director with spare parts inventory and documentation.

This is a customer facing role. Ideally you are based in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or surrounding areas, and you will be comfortable travelling to hospitals across the region. Occasional travel is required to support Northern NSW, Northern and Central QLD, the NT and, as projects and customer needs grow, New Zealand.

What You Will Do

• Perform equipment installations, preventive maintenance, validations and repairs in the field
• Support customers by visit, phone and email with quality product support
• Deliver in service sessions, and application, user and technical training
• Assist with equipment demonstrations and product clinical trials
• Identify customer training needs and make recommendations
• Assist with spare parts inventory management
• Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment and spares movement, tracking and repair status
• Document and update internal procedures
• File product complaints according to company procedures
• Deliver a superior level of after sales support

Equipment You Will Support

About You
Essential:

• Restricted or Full Electrical Licence
• Strong communication and customer facing skills
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving capability, with hands on experience repairing, modifying, overhauling or refurbishing standard and special purpose equipment
• Trade Certificate, Technical Certificate or Diploma
• Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
• Willingness to travel, and flexibility to work occasionally outside ordinary hours

Highly regarded:

• Experience with steam sterilisers, washer disinfectors or CSSD and reprocessing equipment (for example similar medical or industrial equipment providers)
• Experience with surgical equipment or surgical environments
• Audiovisual, surgical integration system or surgical table experience
• Experience from trade based industries such as printing equipment, where you have strong electrical and mechanical field service skills
• Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Visual acuity and manual dexterity are needed to handle tools and equipment.
