Field Service Engineer – Food Processing Equipment

Job summary

Core Talent is seeking a hands-on Technical Service Engineer for a field-based role supporting food processing and packaging equipment across a national footprint. You will install, commission, service, and maintain complex machinery while coordinating with customers, internal teams, and suppliers.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, provide multi-level technical support, and contribute to safety reporting. Travel, after-hours work, and variable site conditions are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a service or field engineering role.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
• Experience working with complex machinery and technical systems.
• Exposure to food processing or packaging environments (preferred).
• Trade qualification and/or relevant engineering degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, and maintain food processing and packaging equipment.
• Provide first, second, and third-level technical support for breakdowns and customer issues.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, audits, refurbishments, and service programs.
• Complete installations and commissioning to agreed specifications and timeframes.
• Prepare accurate service and installation reports within required timeframes.
• Ensure full compliance with WHS requirements and site safety procedures.
• Support project planning alongside service coordinators and project engineers.
• Deliver equipment training to customers and internal teams.
• Assist with product demonstrations, trials, and technical sales support.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify future opportunities.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding equipment performance and technical matters.
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and on-call support as required.
