Veolia Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Field Plant & Equipment Service Technician to support the Portland Aluminium Smelter on-site in Portland, Victoria. You will oversee plant and equipment, ensuring safety, compliance and reliability while collaborating with operations teams.

This newly created role offers a hands-on opportunity to improve maintenance practices, access to Veolia's national asset management network, and a supportive site team focused on safety and efficiency.

Qualificações

• Experience with mechanical or mobile equipment in industrial settings.
• HR truck licence holder.
• Solid understanding of safety and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused with safety commitment.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Technical or trade qualifications are desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee and maintain plant and equipment at the Portland Aluminium site.
• Ensure assets meet safety, environmental and contractual requirements.
• Partner with Operations to keep equipment operating at full capability.
• Use Veolia’s asset management system (VAMS).
• Coordinate deliveries of stock and materials.
• Monitor asset condition with Planning, Scheduling and external providers.
• Carry out routine inspections and servicing to minimise downtime.
• Manage tools, equipment, resources and critical spare parts.

The Opportunity

Veolia is looking for a hands-on, technically capable Field Plant & Equipment Service Technician to support our industrial services team at the Portland Aluminium Smelter. Based on-site in Portland, you’ll help keep essential plant and equipment safe, reliable and ready to perform. This is a newly created role where you’ll work closely with the operations team and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our equipment and maintenance practices.

What you'll be responsible for

• Oversee and maintain plant and equipment at the Portland Aluminium site, while supporting the local Veolia branch.
• Ensure assets meet Veolia’s safety, environmental and contractual requirements.
• Partner with the Operations team to keep equipment operating effectively and at full capability.
• Use Veolia’s internal asset management system, VAMS.
• Coordinate deliveries of stock and materials.
• Work with the Planning and Scheduling team and external service providers to monitor and report on asset condition and integrity.
• Carry out routine inspections and follow up maintenance and servicing to help minimise downtime.
• Manage the tools, equipment, resources and critical spare parts needed to support ongoing operations.

What you'll need to be successful

• Demonstrated experience or knowledge of mechanical or mobile equipment in an industrial setting.
• A current HR truck licence.
• A sound understanding of safety and environmental compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A customer-focused approach and a strong commitment to safety.
• The ability to work independently and apply effective problem-solving skills.
• Technical or trade qualifications are desirable.
