Job summary

RemoteHQ is seeking a Field Based Systems Engineer to support hotels from Melbourne to Yarrawonga with national travel. You will provide professional IT support to hospitality brands, with overnight accommodation provided as required.

As a field engineer you will work at multiple locations, manage your own schedule, and talk tech to non-technical stakeholders. You should be comfortable with late nights and interstate travel when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience delivering IT projects and support across multiple sites.
• Ability to demonstrate multi-skilled knowledge across server, domain, network, and the ability to talk tech to non-tech stakeholders.
• Ability to travel locally and interstate as needed and stay away from home on a rostered basis.
• Strong stakeholder management across a diverse audience.
• Server and Desktop - Level 2/3 support experience.
• PMS, POS, Wintel Servers / Desktop support experience preferred.
• Hospitality industry experience will be highly regarded.
• Good communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Based Systems Engineer to join our growing team in supporting hotels from Melbourne to Yarrawonga plus National Travel. In this role you will provide professional IT support to some of hospitality’s biggest hotel brands. With an exciting pipeline of business ahead, this presents a great opportunity for a technical IT professional to develop and grow their expertise in the hospitality industry. Overnight accommodation provided as required.

As a field-based engineer you will work directly with clients at multiple locations. Often working independently, you are well organised and are responsible for scheduling your clients and managing your own day. Bringing your technical skills and experience to the role, you will be professional in your approach and appearance, but also willing to pick up a drill or crawl under desks to resolve issues. This is a fast-paced environment, so be prepared to think on your feet, roll up your sleeves and be part of an enthusiastic remote team of IT specialists.

The work can be demanding at times and you will often be required to work unconventional hours and take the occasional late night support call. In addition, there will be some interstate travel for up to a week at a time for projects and fortnightly scheduled nights away from home.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their experience in the following:
