Job description

Genus Services is seeking an experienced Field Contract Manager to join our team in Wodonga.

This is a field-focused role responsible for overseeing and managing the field aspects of assigned telecommunications contracts, ensuring contractors deliver the required contractual, commercial, customer, safety and quality outcomes.

Working closely with our project teams, clients and subcontractors, you will play a key role in monitoring field delivery, conducting audits, managing contractor performance and ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversee field-based activities across assigned contracts
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
• Conduct regular field audits of completed work and work in progress, with a strong focus on safety and quality
• Ensure Safe Work Method Statements and Technical Work Instructions are followed
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is delivered within expected timeframes and quality requirements
• Monitor contractor claims for completed work and ensure accuracy
• Identify and address defective workmanship and coordinate required rectification works
• Manage field and contractor escalations in conjunction with management, SHEQ and clients
• Investigate customer complaints and ensure appropriate actions and rectification works are completed
• Conduct regular audits of contractor safety tools and equipment
• Provide contractors with feedback regarding quality requirements and performance
• Run regular toolbox meetings with contracted suppliers
• Liaise with project teams regarding workflow and field delivery
• Identify non-conformances and ensure appropriate remedial actions are implemented
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, customer outcomes and project delivery

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Previous experience managing field-based resources within a medium to large services business
• Experience delivering projects safely, on time and to required quality standards
• Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
• Strong field-based safety and quality focus
• Excellent client relationship and account management skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to manage day-to-day operational issues with autonomy and sound judgement
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• The ability to analyse information and prioritise customer requirements
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
• Competency with Microsoft Office, including Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence
• Construction Industry White Card

A Certificate III or higher/equivalent telecommunications trade qualification and previous experience within telecommunications, utilities, construction or resources will be highly regarded.
