Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Civil Maintenance Officer to join a public sector civil infrastructure team in Torquay, VIC. The role focuses on operating heavy plant, delivering asphalt maintenance programs, and maintaining municipal roads and drainage to high safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have civil works experience, plant competency with equipment like Flocon units and front-end loaders, and the ability to perform daily reporting and site risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil works, asphalt laying, and road maintenance.
• Ability to read civil plans and perform basic measurements.
• Proven record of safe plant operation and reporting of defects.

Responsibilities

• Operate civil plant and heavy vehicles safely (up to 45T).
• Execute road and footpath maintenance including asphalt work.
• Conduct daily checks, lubrication, and logbook updates.
• Adhere to SWMS, assess site risk, and maintain quality control.
• Complete timesheets, logs and incident reports daily.
• Support team mates and assist trades as needed.
