Job summary

Surf Coast Shire Council in Victoria is seeking a skilled Civil Maintenance Officer to operate trucks and plant and to contribute to civil maintenance across the shire, based at the Winchelsea depot.

You will hold a Heavy Combination or higher licence, have several years of civil works experience, understand daily plant inspections and safety practices, and be committed to delivering high‑quality services in a local government setting.

Qualifications

• Holder of a current Heavy Combination (HC) or higher driver's licence with relevant endorsements.
• Several years' experience in civil works.
• Experience in a Local Government environment.
• Working With Children Check.
• You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia.
• Police Check results suitable for this position; international or national checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Performing civil maintenance and construction work on Council’s assets such as roads, footpaths, drainage & signage.
• Safe and appropriate operation of plant, e.g., Front End Loader, Backhoe, Roller, Sweeper & Trucks to 45T.
