Job summary

Hydrostor Industrial Pty Ltd in Penrith is seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician to join our team on a full-time afternoon shift (2.00pm–10.00pm). You will read and manufacture stormwater containment and treatment tanks in accordance with approved drawings, cut and prepare fiberglass, and finish tanks with a flow coat.

Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in fiberglass, an understanding of Orthophthalic, Isophthalic and vinyl ester resins, and experience using MMA adhesives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in fiberglass fabrication.
• Knowledge of resin systems: Orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester.
• Experience using MMA adhesives (Methyl Methacrylate).

Responsibilities

• Read and manufacture stormwater containment and treatment tanks from approved drawings.
• Cut and prepare fiberglass for components and penetrations.
• Laminate with hand layup techniques and finish with a flow coat.

We are currently seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician / Fiber Composite Technician to join our team in Penrith. This is a full time role and will involve working Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm (afternoon shift). You will be responsible for:

• Working in a safe manner and following all safety instructions and policies
• Safely using ladders and scaffolding to access work areas
• Reading and manufacturing stormwater containment and treatment tanks in accordance with approved drawings
• Cutting and preparing fiberglass for the installation of components and penetrations
• Filling all gaps and laminating using hand layup techniques
• Finishing tanks with a flow coat

Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar role in the fiberglass industry. You'll also have an understanding of differences between Orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester resins, and have experience using Methyl Methacrylate Adhesives (MMA). A salary package of $80,000- $85,000 will be offered to the successful applicant, plus afternoon shift loading and overtime as required.
